Good morning every one:
What a beautiful day and I"m so glad I'm vertical today.
Yesterday afternoon I was in class all afternoon and into
into the night trying to learn to BLOG. Richard I think
I may have learned ahead of you. Well maybe this brain
isn't as dead as I thought.
Any way just wanted to say MERRY CHRISTMAS and Dad
and I are real anxious to see everyone. We love you all.
Had a Ho-Hum trip up here. Same old trees and houses
to look at. Did see a few Christmas decorations that
were nice.
Puff Mutz enjoyed the trip. Mostly he lay in Dad's lap
and slept. He's so spoiled.
Have to finish what little shopping I do today. Gosh
I hate ploughing through that throng of people. Some
of them aren't so nice. Like an old bear in the woods.
Maybe I'll take my walking cane to even up things a
little.
The question of the day is what am I going to buy?
I DON'T KNOW. Do I buy for a male, female, some-
thing funny. something for the house, yard, garage,
Bathroom--Wait now there's an idea. ( Maybe toilet
paper) or somethiing for the dogs. Come on give me
a clue.
Hey this is fun! Maybe I'll blog again sometime. You
better watch for me you might just miss me.

Christmas Update
The Christmas gift guidelines are as follows:
If you have already bought a gag gift, still bring it. DO NOT go out and purchase something else.
If you haven't purchased a gift, DON"T purchase a gag gift. Limit is still $20.00
I'm taking the bull by the horns here but, since we said lunch time, let's do this at 12:30.
If we are going to have a lesson on the blog someone please explain to Dick that he is married to a Kirkland so he is allowed to post.

Some Memories Don't Need Any Pictures
God knew what he was doing when He blessed me with my boys of summer. Because in His infinite wisdom he knew that although I wasn't girl mother material I needed girls in my life. He poured into my life joy, love, laughter, grace, wisdom, sentimentality, sugar and spice and everything nice when he gave me my nieces. Meghan, Ginny, and Hannah have fulfilled my need for a daughter in ways that are too numerous too count.
In the early years of my marriage that still lasts, Dick traveled a lot. Matthew wasn't born yet and Aaron and Josh were spending every other weekend with their dad. Those three girls spent many a night at my house and oh, the fun we had! What ever I suggested, they were good for. I used to take them shopping, into all the "girlie" places that I never had a reason to shop in. We would go for dinner and I'll always remember the home "spa" treatments we had. I'll never forget the night the possum scared us. I have even had the honor of shopping for a wedding dress, something I didn't think I would ever do.
Over the years the girls did exactly what they were suppose to do, they grew up. They grew up into beautiful, smart, warm and loving young women. Our time together isn't as often as it used to be, but it is as dear to me now as it was then. I am so very thankful they, and their parents, Joy and Tom, and Micky are willing to share them with me.
It amazes me that now I can find very very few pictures of our times together. But some memories don't need pictures. I only have to close my eyes and think of the things we shared and the smile on my face is as big now and it was when the memory was made.
I love you Meghan, Ginny and Hannah!

Look Micky! I posted also!!!
I am Janice, oldest daughter of James and Vera. Sometimes I am also known as Joy-Jan and lots of times I am just "Jan". Jan is reserved for family. I inherited from my daddy his sense of humor and outlook on life. If there is a bright spot to be seen, daddy and I will find it. From mom, I inherited my need to make sure everyone feels welcome and wanted. Mom and I both will go out of our way to make sure everyone is included and feels the love.
I married the first time in 1981 and from that marriage I have two wonderful boys. Aaron is the oldest at 25 and Joshua is 22. Aaron graduated from Georgia Tech and has resettled in Savannah. Josh will graduate from Georgia Tech in May. I'm not sure where he will end up.
I remarried in 1992 to a wonderful man who was willing to take, without any regrets, "the package deal." Dick, my husband, also graduated from Georgia Tech and is retired. To fill up his time he substitute teaches. Dick and I also have a son together. Matthew is 15 and lives, breathes, sleeps and dreams of sports. He might also be Georgia Tech's number 1 fan.
I refer to the boys as my "boys of summer" because they were all born in July. Aaron was born on the Fourth of July and thinks the 4th is all about his birth, not the birth of our country. Josh and Matthew were both born on the 10th of July. Josh has always been the greatest about sharing the day with Matthew.
At times I feel like I live in a locker room but I love my boys, my family and I wouldn't trade it nor change it for anything!

Look Micky, I posted!!
Ten weeks ago when this blog was started Meghan asked that each of the four Kirkland siblings "introduce" their family, so here goes......
Joy Kirkland Park - "The Baby"- born June 1962, married Tom Park in January, 1981. Two beautiful daughters, Meghan Nicole born September, 1983 and Hannah Jalynne born February, 1985. They are the oldest and youngest Kirkland granddaughters. Meghan is the second of the nine grandkids and Hannah is right in the middle at #5. That's it, our family of four. Well...kind of. If you count the four legged "kids/grandkids", we are a family of seven. Tom and I have one baby still at home, Dazi. We also have two granddogs. FaithAnne lives with Meghan and FaithAnne's sister, Hope, lives with Hannah. So there we are....a family of seven.
Picture to follow.....
Three more "introductions" to go. So get busy big brothers and sister.
